2015-10 (Racine) Parts Cataloger/Analyst - Heavy Equipment



GGS Information Services, a globally recognized technical publications company serving leading manufacturers in transportation, aerospace, construction and agricultural equipment, has an immediate need for qualified candidates to fill a Parts Cataloger (Heavy Equipment) position in Racine, WI.

This person will be responsible for data integrity of parts records, determining serviceability of parts and creating, maintaining and updating records. This position ensures that all provided information meets project timing within approved budgets.


  • Research, evaluate and interpret technical, engineering information including part records, technical descriptions and corresponding artwork according to global CNH specifications.
  • Enter new and/or missing information from customer-supplied engineering materials such as ECNs, ECOs, ECRs and BOMs into numerous computer database systems and software.
  • Compiles parts lists and illustrations using various software programs. May conduct a quality assurance review of catalog or manual upon completion.
  • Reviews new and existing catalog figures to verify accuracy and quality assurance upon completion.
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a worldwide environment by interfacing with engineers, technical writers, technicians, and more to become familiar with parts installation and operation methods presently utilized.
  • Proactively communicate with Program Manager regarding project and individual objectives assuring that assignments are fulfilled on time. Ensure quality and accuracy to maintain and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Provide input regarding estimated hours and resources required for projects in order to create an accurate project quote. Assist in identifying and improving areas requiring process improvement.
  • Researches vendor catalogs for art and parts listing information.
  • Reacts effectively to change and performs other related duties as directed.


  • Requires high school level education or equivalent in addition to computer, career, or vocational related studies plus 1+ year of work experience with mobile equipment such as agricultural or construction equipment.  
  • Must have experience interpreting blueprints and detailed engineering specifications.
  • Must have the ability to use MS Office at an intermediate level.
  • Must be proficient with a personal computer and various software including desktop publishing, spreadsheet, word processing, illustration, and database programs.  Proficient with ProE/PDM, IsoDraw, CAD, and Adobe Illustrator is preferred.

This position may require the ability to interpret and manipulate manufacturers' and trade catalogs, engineering schematics, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, testing, and service of equipment.


This position does not have any specific supervisory responsibilities. Depending on skill level, this position may train other employees. All work is assigned on a task-by-task basis, is done independently, and without close supervision.
